'The Tower of Nero' by Rick Riordan

'The Tower of Nero' is an amazing finale for not only 'The Trials of Apollo', but also the world of Percy Jackson. Riordan did a perfect job closing our heroes arcs while also leaving a little room for readers to imagine what happens next.

The main theme of this series is discovering how mortality can make humans special. Initially, Apollo was selfish & egocentric. However, through his mortal trials, Apollo slowly learns how precious live is to those who know their time is finite. And in this book, though a weak mere mortal, Apollo is stronger & braver than he has ever been before. He is a true hero.

Besides Apollo, Uncle Rick manages to bring closure to almost all the heroes we've fallen in love with during the course of fifteen books. Moreover, this book also contains a lot of parallels & callbacks to the PJO series, especially 'The Lightning Thief'. And he does these without taking away from the main plot & characters of this series, Apollo & Meg. Whenever a hero or parallel from past series was mentioned, it never felt out of place. It felt right and perfect for the final book of the saga.

I will forever appreciate how much care & love Uncle Rick put into this book. It felt like a love letter to all the loyal readers who have stuck with him. The first book of this saga, TLT, was born out of love for his son. Rick Riordan wanted to help his son accept what made him different from others and, thus, special. And in doing so, he created a whole generation of readers who learned how to love & accept themselves through his books. And for that, I will be forever grateful.

I would recommend this saga to everyone, especially middle-grade readers.
