'How to Sell Your Blood & Fall in Love' by D.N. Bryn

D.N. Bryn knocks it out of the park again with the sequel to their series 'Guides for Dating Vampires'. Like its predecessor, 'How to Sell Your Blood & Fall in Love' is also an incredibly fun, cute, and fast paced spicy romance that will have readers begging for more.

I thought I wouldn't be able to love anyone as much as I loved Wes and Vinny, but D.N. Bryn proved me wrong. Justin and Clementine are as amazing if not even more so than the author's previous main characters. They were both extremely unique, fun and easy to love. I am a huge fan of flawed character, so I loved exploring Justin and Clem's journeys into acknowledging and accepting their flaws. It was especially interesting to see how two very different characters could have so much in common. Plus, I was glad that the author was able to replicate the realistic progression from strangers to friends to lovers that they did in their first book. The main characters and their relationship was definitively the best part of this story.

While I didn't developed any attachments with the side characters in the first book, I was a huge fan of the ones in this book, especially Isaiah and Reggie. I loved their personalities and their role in the main characters lives. And, I am kind of hoping that we get to see Isaiah's happy ending(s) in the future. He deserves the world! Plus, I loved the easter eggs of Wes and Vinny that we got.

The plot was also slightly more intricate in this book, but still kind of simple and predictable. However, I still enjoyed it a lot. Once again, I loved the social conflicts explored such as discrimination, inequality, mental health, and self love. The author does a great job exploring these without it feeling "preachy" or out of place. Everything that was said and done felt crucial to the story and its characters. I also loved the author's exploration of chronic pain, sexuality and neurodivergency. The miscommunication trope was once again well developed. My only caveat with it was that its resolution felt rushed in my opinion. Like the drama queen I am, I would have liked a little more angst and groveling before it was resolved.

If you're looking for a fun, cute and fast paced romance that also has spice, fantasy and exploration of relevant social issues then I definitively recommend you read this book.
